Practical seed stewardship for the South West
WHO ARE WE ?
We are a collective of seed growers across South West England whose intention is to grow quality regionally-adapted seeds for commercial sale, focussing on veg but not excluding flowers, grains and herbs. We aim to increase seed production in our region and will be growing varieties that have regional stories and are locally adapted to our climates, including heritage/heirloom varieties. We aim to increase the genetic diversity of seeds that are available to gardeners and small scale growers. We commit to honouring the lineages of past and present seed stewards by sharing their stories. Through collaboration we will strengthen the UK seed growing network, create potential for participating in seed research projects, and through our shared learning experiences be able to increase the offerings of seed related trainings and events in the SouthWest.
